UW Madison Babcock Hall Center for Dairy Research Plant Upgrades

Remodel
In general, the work consists of Contractor to procure, install and commission equipment, piping and instruments as outlined in the Contract Documents to provide new utility services to support existing aseptic dairy line equipment within Room 280 of the CDR. The new aseptic equipment is existing within Room 280 of CDR but will require final placement and alignment by the Contractor within the room based upon the Contract Documents. Utility systems to be provided will include a new Reverse Osmosis System, new Culinary Steam System including feedwater tank with pumps, electric boiler, blowdown system and Culinary Steam Filter Station. Culinary Steam will be distributed through both a low pressure and high-pressure culinary steam header to the aseptic equipment. Also included is a 10ºC closed loop chilled water system with a new plate and frame heat exchanger and pump, and a hot water distribution system including a steam shell and tube heater and distribution piping. Campus steam is used as the heating source for the hot water system and the campus ice water system is used as the cooling source for the 10ºC chilled water loop. All new utility equipment will be located in the 3rd floor penthouse area, directly above Room 280 and an interstitial space in between the two areas.
